The Guardian has provided just the aid to impoverished imaginations, speaking only of those Jack-wavers who’ve been out and about today, that I was hoping to find, in the form of an online app that generates an overlay of the spill extent onto a map of the region around whatever location the user gives it. There’s a picture showing central London as the home point.

........

What would the BP oil spill look like over your home?

Bigger than Wales and Belgium – see for yourself

It kills seabirds, devastates livelihoods and is having a go at doing both to BP's share price. But how big, you may ask, is the Gulf of Mexico oil spill?

2. Britain need to bail it's "economic pilar" out with out financial
assistance from the US. I mean if Britain truly is the world's second strongest economy there should be little financial burden on them. If it is thriving and vibrant as my British friends like to brag to me now is the time to prove it.

As far as loving Britain, don't read too much of their colonial history if you want to maintain that particular illusion. Strapping live Sepoy combatants to cannon wheels then firing cannon balls through them after the the Indian Rebellion of 1857 would be a good starting point.
