Google kills background images on home page
"Fourteen hours into a 24-hour experiment with background imagery, Google's home page is once again stark white"

http://news.cnet.com/8301-30684_3-20007366-265.html

One can only hope they are not stupid enough to do this again in the future.

1. why? (I usually search from my taskbar and not from
google's home page) But, it didn't seem like a bad idea, necessarily...

7. Well...
When I turned on the computer the other day, I had some picture I did not want that I could not get rid of. Then later I got a button to change it but did not have the option for all white till late last night. I found it very annoying, they should have given people the option of not having it from the start.

4. Mine's still there
though I did a white image with a single line on the side because I didn't like it. Just noticed where I can turn it off now though kind of liking the all white.

5. Thank goodness!
What an ugly experiment THAT was.

I was about to look for a new home page, when finally it reverted to the plain version.

10. I like the stark white Google because I don't have to wait for a useless graphic to load.
That pissed me off also. If I want something else there, I think I can figure it out. I have a web site, I can build my own Google redirect web page.

12. I didn't notice it was gone
I have to go back and look. I too was annoyed when it popped up and used the option to change the background to something I liked better. I usually don't dwell on stuff like this though and was just happy that someone didn't decide to redecorate my house while I was at work.
