Do we really want them to one day say, "that was too easy" Democratic loss
We all need to stand behind our party and our President, more now than ever before. I know his baby steps are maddening and I agree and am really frustrated. If we all remain devoted though we can keep moving forward. Think about the alternative. We are at a critical moment in our history, the very planet depends on us.

1. doesn't that just enforce the thought that we are content with the current direction?
and I think that direction being "forward" could be argued.

2. well, it certainly gives the message that we're willing to accept almost nothing in return
for our devoted loyalty.

not much of an intelligent trade.

7. I want the President to recognize the liberals and progressives
also want change - with some moves to the left.

I think we have been ignored.

That is what I want.

13. The health care reform bill was progressive, even if we didn't get single payer

or a government option.

And we're about to eliminate all the Bush tax cuts, a move which is also progressive.

If the Republicans get back into office, it will mean more for the rich and even less for everyone else. And more S.C. Justices like Scalia and Roberts. Is that really what you want?

15. Health Care was expansion - not reform
progressive? I guess it could be called that with respect to opening the door for insurance for millions more. But the opportunity for reform was lost - perhaps forever.

Tax cuts - will agree once it happens.

Of course I don't want more SCOTUS's like Scalia and Roberts. Who would.

Sure I think we should unite - but to do so to hold the administration's feet to the fire for real progressive change.

8. So if forward is arguable what is the other option for a political direction exactly?
Come up with a realistic direction that isn't getting better or getting worse!

9. how about holding the status quo - which is where I see the direction of this administration
Edited on Fri Jun-11-10 09:14 AM by DrDan
the war? just shifting the troops from Iraq to Afghanistan
Guantanamo still operational
Patriot act extended
Health Care "Reform" - nope - Health Care "Expansion" at best
bailouts for wealthy and corporations continuing

the list goes on . . .

11. A) That's not a direction. B)That's also insane
Are you REALLY saying you would have no preference if offered a choice between Obama and Bush back in office? To suggest a status quo and no forward progress, one must logically have no reason to prefer one over the other.

6. "them"?
Who exactly constitute "them"? The republicans in DC? Or the democrats in DC who dinner-date with those republicans? Or the corporate interests who are taking them out, and buying their votes/souls?
