Why Not More Skimmers
It seems that from the beginning one idea for at least mitigating the damage from the gulf oil spill was to use oil skimmer to remove oil from the surface of the gulf water. I am not sure if there are more oil skimmers in the gulf than I am aware of, but from what I having been seeing on the news there are not enough oil skimmers being used in the spill. So, why are there not more oil skimmers in the gulf? Does the U.S. government have to wait until BP executives agree to an idea before the idea is put into place?

2. Rachel reported yesterday that 32 Costner machines have been ordered
It may be availability or it could be related to the difficulty in skimming diffuse oil in choppy water using existing machine (I think it's a combination of both.)
