Rachel's BP vs. ACORN piece last night got me to wondering.... Is ACORN regrouping?
I just googled that question and read some interesting articles... here's one from March... http://www.nydailynews.com/opinions/2010/03/04/2010-03-04_acorn_vets_are_regrouping_and_ready_to_keep_fighting.html

Chapters are reincorporating as independent spinoffs. Here are just two:
New York Communities for Change... http://www.nycommunities.org/
Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment... http://www.calorganize.org/

1. C'mon, didja really think they would just strike their tents and slip away?
Now the establishment will have to deal with hundreds of compact groups all across the spectrum of political issues. Gonna cost the PTD more than if they'd just left ACORN alone.

people who had not known power before-- people who have been at the mercy of the elites of money and politics.
I hope they get far further in their mission than they ever dreamt possible.
In fact, beside unions, groups like ACORN or the smaller groups its problems have generated, will be instrumental in creating a massive political re-alignment that takes power out of the hands of the entrenched cabal that has it now.
The elites sensed that ACORN was in the ascendancy, and so they used blackmail to humiliate it.
But humiliation is not destruction, and that is what its adversaries have not counted on.
A great mission remains great even if one organization, or many, have been attacked.
ACORN has never stopped fighting the battles of the 1950s and 1960s. They are not a Third Way organization, but traditionally liberal.
This is not just ephemeral populism. Let the rich quake in their Guccis.
