There ought to be a "good for the gander" law
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 11:15 PM by brentspeak
- such that if an oil rig gushes oil uncontrollably, resulting in the destruction of the area's wildlife, the oil company's CEO, senior executives, and board-of-directors must then all be required to swim in their own toxic stew.

- that if a coal mine explodes, resulting in the needless premature deaths of coal miners, the coal mine's management and owners must all be required to don some mining equipment and mine some coal in the exact conditions

- that if a Wall Street institution's activities results in the loss of innocent people's livelihoods and life savings, said Wall Street institution's head honchos must all lose their jobs -- along with everything they have to their name

1. you are correct

If a politician sends kids off to war, his must be in the front.

but that's not how things work for the privileged.

4. Not ganderish enough for me
I think they should all be forced to actually clean up the shit they create. Swimming in their toxic stew is not enough. They should be made to actually clean it up personally, breathe it for hours on end, pick up the shit, rescue the wildlife, wade in it up to their knees and then do it all over again every single day until they die or the environment is cleaned up.

And if their activities result in loss of jobs and homes for others they should be forced to be homeless for a period of time no less than a year. Truly homeless and left to survive by their wits. Let them be shunned by those who would step over their frozen dead bodies as if they didn't exist.

Karma is an equal opportunity force. Tit for tat.
