I should know. I used to be in the last hoi polloi idiot group until I began a gradual departure about 3-4 years ago. Of course, them moving to the right just facilitated my resolve to move away all the more. Never was a die-hard GOP-er at any time though and I truly would like to believe I was more well read than the other fellow idiots. So many of my friends are still in that group though but I'm at least providing some critical thinking into their views beyond the sound bites...to all but the most stubborn ignoramuses.

or rather, divided into categories. Although there are probably some that don't fit into the Sheep or Religous, Tough or Wannabe categories. then again, there's an overcount, because so many fall into more than one category...

I've found that most repugs I know fit at least three of those categories. One I'd add is "fearful" or "paranoid".
