Obama Can Get Angry
Yesterday, there was talk about whether President Obama is allowed to get angry. On CNN there was a discussion in which some individuals claimed Obama could not get angry because he would be deemed an "angry black man". This thinking is foolish. Very few people, if any, would lash out at Obama if he, on occasion, showed some anger. In the situation with BP most people would feel President Obama is being very reasonable if he criticized the leadership of BP in an angry manner.

The only way President Obama would be labeled an "angry black man" would be if he became angry for no real reason. As long as President Obama shows anger when people and groups do things wrong very few people will have problems with the anger.

1. That May Have Been True During the Primaries
but I think his status as president overshadows his race now.

2. Right wing pundits call for Obama to get angry. But if he does, they will call him every name
in the book, and I promise you there will be lots of "innuendo"

3. He gets angry.... when unions support a pro-union Dem rather than his designated anti-union Dem
Of course he hides it behind "anonymous sources" (but certainly not for fear of appearing to be an angry black man, but because hiding behind "anonymous" is just standard WH chickenshit behavior) but there's no doubt they're speaking for him with his approval.

But he won't even unleash anonymous sources on BP. BP isn't some upstart candidate looking to unseat the status quo. BP IS the status quo.

4. BP oil disaster worse than we are being told
Not only is more oil leaking than we have been told by the corporations and their corporate media, there may be up to three oil leaks in the gulf in addition to the three at the Deepwater Horizon site. Furthermore, this means more than just fouled beaches and dead marine life. Oil can clog the intakes of water from the Gulf that is used to cool coal and nuclear power plants, resulting in power outages. It can also clog the intakes of desalinization plants that use reverse osmosis to produce drinking for cities on the GUlf coast.
