thanks humans....

A sea turtle covered in oil swims off Louisiana on Tuesday. BP was capturing so much oil that it didn't have a big enough boat on site to hold it.

BP Needs Bigger Oil Tanker

It’d be a comedy of errors by this point, if it weren’t so tragic: BP is collecting so much oil from the leaking well in the Gulf of Mexico that it does not have a large enough boat to store it, according to The Wall Street Journal. In the 24-hour period ending midnight Monday, BP collected 14,800 barrels of oil—which means that scientists’ recent guess that the well is leaking between 12,000 and 19,000 barrels a day is too low. BP now plans to deal with the excess oil by burning it. The Associated Press says it will use a device called an “EverGreen Burner,” which burns oil and gas without creating smoke.

3. I watched fish eating surface globs of oil this weekend
They are destined to sicken and die. They'll be eaten by other fish/dolphins. They'll sicken and die.

I just wanted to apologize to them all while watching it.

4. Yes, and to add to the depression
the toxins in the oil will concentrate up the food chain again, like DDT. That's what the brown pelicans were finally starting to recover from!
