Stunning Photo Gallery: Ripple effects of the BP oil spill
Edited on Wed Jun-09-10 01:54 AM by avaistheone1
Clean-up crews are removing blobs of oil that have washed ashore in Louisiana, Alabama and Florida. Meantime, the disaster is taking a toll on the oil-drenched sea life and birds, especially brown pelicans.

1. Unbelievable...
The most horrific part of all of this is the oil itself. This
isn't like the motor oil you put in your car--fluid, thin and
transparent.

This stuff looks like cake batter--thick, gloppy sludge.

It's just gut wrenching.

What we see floating on the surface is just the tip of
the iceberg. There's no much that is in the water column
that hasn't floated to the surface yet. And...the oil is
still gushing.

I hope the Eastern seaboard is ready for utter catastrophe
as well--because I see no way out of that happening. We're
not even 10 percent into this thing.

9. I agree with you...
If the well was capped today--so much of the oil is still on its way to the top.
Those large plumes are still underwater, but they will surface.

But, as we all know, the well is still spewing oil.

I don't see how this doesn't forever change our planet in ways that
will affect all of us.
