Religious leaders on immigration: 'There has to be a change. There has to be reform'
Source: Houston Chronicle

Religious leaders from congregations across Houston gathered Sunday to pray for comprehensive immigration reform on a national level and against any sort of Arizona-style policies in Texas.

...

the Metropolitan Organization has collected more than 10,000 postcards to send politicians, urging them to adopt more favorable policies for immigrants.

Christian leaders see immigrant ministries and these types of prayer services as outreach to "the foreigner among us," as the Bible calls them to do.

"We must on God's behalf see one another as immigrant brother and sister," said Bishop Doyle.

1. Brothers and Sisters...
Is this the beginning of the end of the beginning of the end of Christianity? Have we come full circle yet? Can we go back to believing in the sentiments shown by stories such as Moses, in his "let my people go" moments? How about The Good Samaritan? Feeding the masses with three fishes and five loaves? Does that kind of faith exist again/still?

3. That's the big issue for these churches
More flock to fleece. Middle class America is deserting mainstream organized religion in droves, they're trying to fill the pews with people who are poor enough to believe that some deity will make things right by them in an afterlife.
