Is anybody testing the fish being caught in the Gulf?
I feel horrible for the people who make/made their living from the Gulf of Mexico. Probably none of their lives will ever be the same. But the last that I heard, only 35% of the waters were closed to fishing. With the millions of gallons of toxic dispersants being pumped into the Gulf waters in addition to the tens of millions of crude oil, without testing how can anybody with credibility say that it is safe to consume any of the seafood from the Gulf?

I am seeking answers. Goodness help us all.

1. Yes, BP has a Food Safety Division. Everything is cleared through them before
it's shipped out to your local supermarket or restaurant.

BP...Beyond Pretroleum...they're into food, too. :puke:

(Just kidding...I hope...)

2. Feed it to Tony Hayward
Better yet, ask him to feed it to his children.

5. I have some prawns from Louisiana
I bought them and they were caught before the spill. They still have some left for sale but the price has gone up about 50%.

However, that said they are  all the way.

They aren't processing and haven't been processing any more shrimp since the spill began they told me.

Nice people running this business and honest!

Sad. :(

6. I prefer cold waters flounder and sole anyway
Difficult to get in South Florida. Last ones I bought were a product of CANADA. If I want shrimp, I will go back to the frozen Taiwan variety.

9. You are welcome
I, too, have been hesitant to ask it because we all feel horrible for those who once made their lives on the Gulf. But we need someone in a leadership position to ask this question, even if it isn't politically comfortable to do so. It will hurt a lot more politically in the future to be the guy in charge if you've been telling/allowing people to eat tainted seafood.
