Senator: Deepwater Well Integrity May Be Shot, Meaning Oil Could Be Leaking Straight Up From The Sea
Nelson (D-FL) on MSNBC talking with Andrea Mitchell about reports that the integrity of the well may be shot. Bonus is his comments about Haley Barbour's idiotic comments:

1. I think this has been hinted at (or at least a question) from the beginning.
BTW - it isn't about "leaking straight up from the sea". Its about leaking from the bore hole - the side - the casing.

2. Sea Bed would have been my choice of words

Maybe they didn't have enough room? I copied the title directly.

Edit -- the original does say 'seabed'. DU must have cut the last 3 letters off for being too long.

3. Since BP cut corners in other areas, why should we think that they
did everything by the book when drilling the well?

This is really way over the top. :(

4. Dispersants saved the day!!
Just imagine if all that oil made it to the surface?

All the beaches would have oil on them. Good job BP!!

5. BP might as well turn over all assets to the American people.
They have lost the right to exist.

6. I opined that here before. The Earth could be spewing its oil until this spot runs out & the
oceans die, and we along with them.

7. Did you catch the end where he said it is time to get independent scientists in there
to determine what is happening?

Um, like day 46, Senator and you are just NOW coming to this conclusion? Just another thing we have all been screaming about for the last ~6 weeks.

Sometimes I feel like the people here are the only ones paying attention and the rest of the media (& the government) is just waiting to reread BP talking points.

8. FWIW, the ROVs were at the base of the BOP today...
and there wasn't any oil leaking out down there that I could see.

I'm not going to worry about it until there is evidence that the well has been compromised.
