Wives of Deepwater Horizon rig workers tell of concerns they heard weeks before explosion
The wives of two workers who died in the April 20 Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion testified this morning before a special meeting of the House Energy subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations in Chalmette. Both told committee members that their husbands, Shane Roshto and Wyatt Kemp, had told them in the weeks before the explosion about problems they had in controlling the well.

"This well was different in the fact that they were having so many problems, and so many things were happening, and it was just kind of out of hand," said Courtney Kemp, of Jonesville, La.

1. they had the choice to go or not
I walked away from a government job of my own free will because I made the decision to not associate with..... (LONG story)

but ultimately it comes down to an individual's free will and personal decisions.

Not blaming them, but if they knew it was dangerous, what excuse do they have have for going? Taking care of their families??? how's that working now? Sorry to be so mean, but in the long run we are responsible for our own actions. Sure BP shares blame, but if these guys knew it was dangerous why did they go?

I'm not excusing BP, they deserve 100% of the blame.

2. It's the same thing that workers in a variety of occupations do

every day. You go to work or lose your job, regardless of your concerns, the bank and the bill collectors don't give a shit.

Good that you were able to get out of a bad situation, many do not have that option.

This is the result of the workers not having control of the means of production.

Kill Capitalism.
