Omg. Washington Journal's question "Should Helen Thomas resign?"
invites a pile on and instead, all these angry people are calling to complain about Israel.

What a train wreck. The poor host looks like he's going to faint. They should just pull the question. This is awful

1. Maybe they deserve it if the question was set up to bash Helen.

2. I think it was. But not only are people angry,
every anti-semite with a telephone is calling in. Of all the calls so far, only one person called in to pile on Helen.

8. My bet is that 95% of these folks are RW and teabaggers
They hide their anti-semitism and are afraid to challenge the closet folks like Hagee a RW "Christiain" apologist for Israel who make loads of money from AIPAC to spew his garbage for Israel.

6. Did she have wide-stance diaper sex with a luggage-handling rentboy in a public bathroom?
According to Republicon Family Values, that is not cause for resignation, but rather for a Standing O.

9. People are so angry in this country.
They don't even know why they are angry any more and all they do is look for a group to unload on.

This is an ugly time here.

11. I find her comments reprehensible but why
should she resign? She made a gaffe, telling the 'truth' as she saw it. So she's in trouble and should be with a fair percentage of the populus, but she's not an elected official, and now I for one fully understand her agenda, and she should be able to continue to do what she does. This is America, she has a right or two left...

OTOH, I for one, have lost all respect for her, utterly and totally. That's MY right.

12. Lets send flowers to Helen for speaking her mind to power.
The world acdts as though the Palestinians are less than human and like they stole land from the Jews living in Germany. How many lives have we already lost in defense of Israel. During WWII my family lost 5 men. We were all sympathetic to the Jews in Germany and we were all staunch supporters of a homeland for Israel until certain events took place against the Palestinians. What turned us the most against Israel were some of our Jewish friends who would allow no discussion or comments against Israeli policies ever. That was back in the early 70's. A few of them agreed that Israel was practicing the very behavior that we all despised. Over the years we have learned that many Jew in Israel dislike their government policies and many young Jews in the US are against Israeli government policies but they dare not speak out...grandma and grandpa would cut their estate off. Plain and simple blackmail...like a lot of foreign policy over Israel.

13. um no.
I love Helen Thomas, but her comments were not laudable and they weren't speaking truth to power. They were ill advised and rather pathetic. I don't think she should be fired and I hate the piling on over this one remark. She's apologized. I'd like to see us all move on.

14. There's Closed Minds And Ignorance On All Sides...
As the above shows...this Jew doesn't see Palestinians as "less than human". I've been to Israel and seen the situation, good and bad...how Jews and Palestinians have and can live together but years of propaganda from all sides have led to distortions that showed in Helen's comments. The Likudniks aren't all Jews as much as all Americans aren't Teabaggers or Neo-cons, just as much as all Palestinians aren't Hamas or PLO...extremes on both sides that only perpetuate the suffering for all.

There are plenty of Jews who speak out...but the corporate media ignores them...but while many disagree with the Likudniks but do agree with Israel's right to exist as a sovereign state and to live in peace. But I don't hear any such willingness from the PLO and Hamas supporters...whose policies still call not only for the elimination of the State of Israel but the destruction of the Jewish people within. The few moderate Palestinians don't stand a chance (by the barrel of a gun), just as much as the moderate Jews and Israels are shut out from much of the media.
