Another cry for HELP for the gulf!

I attempted to put out my cry for help the other day. I said donations were needed for many things in the gulf. Said thread received few responses and it was deemed to be BP's responsibility and why SHOULD I HAVE TO DONATE to clean-up their mess?

After seeing the pictures of the oiled birds in abundance on the internet and the teevee, maybe now you have a clue as to why I can only hope. BP isn't going to do jack sh*t about any of this if they have their way and they will likely escape providing any restitution due, you can bet on that.

Please try to donate something, even an old heating pad or a blanket for the sick birds and other animals!

Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge
In preparation for the oil slick, Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge is asking for the following:
- Plastic storage bins with lids (18-24 Gal)
- Baby blankets
- Towels
- Heating pads w/out auto shut-off
- Heat lamps
- Plastic stock tanks 100 gal or larger
- Portable swim pool (non-inflatable) not shallow baby pools
- Cash donations for medical supplies!

The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary
Thursday they put out a request for volunteers and supplies plan to take care of injured wildlife. The sanctuary needs donations of linens, kennels, towels, sheets, Dawn detergent, Pepto-Bismol and toothbrushes.

The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is located at:

DO NOT attempt to clean oil or handle wildlife without proper training, materials washing ashore are extremely toxic!
We have only heard of training in Escambia County right now. They have set-up online self-registration at www.BeReadyEscambia.com/training.The Citizen Information Line will be able to register people for classes who do not have computer access between the hours of 8a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. The Citizen Information number is [phone]. They will continue to add additional classes as these fill up.

I have lots of extra blankets around here and I have donated some $$ to these efforts.

Waiting for BP to do something will happen when hell freezes over unless hell has already frozen over!
