Obama favored moratorium against offshore drilling: "It's not going to provide short-term relief or
in fact long-term relief. It won't drop prices in this administration or in the next administration or in the administration after that," Obama said while campaigning in Iowa.

From the same link, he also said:

"When I'm president, I intend to keep in place the moratorium here in Florida and around the country that prevents oil companies from drilling off Florida's coasts," Obama told reporters in Jacksonville in late June. "That's how we can protect our coastline and still make the investments that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring down gas prices for good."

Of course, he used to support single-payer and he used to think the war in Iraq was "stupid." I guess it's just the developing wisdom of the statesman that allows him to see things differently after elections.

3. Nothing about off shore drilling in Alaska...
and I am apoplectic that they consider nuclear an option when they still haven't figured out what to do with the waste...a nuclear disaster could be even worse than this horrible, unforgivable, catastrophe in the gulf...

4. I remember that comment. So much of his thinking has changed
since the campaign days.

5. Yet the contradictions were there from the beginning...

The choice of campaign advisors sent my antenna quivering when they were thoughtfully pointed out to me.

7. True. It's sad how easily the legitimate desire for change can be manipulated
for the maintenance of the status quo.
