1. It appears to me that he's trying to attract some of Beck's audience.
He's even doing a special (next week?) on the strength of the tea party.

6. Yeah...on that tea party thing he's doing - he's only about 8 months late on that one!
"Yes, Gary...I DO like the phrase "death spiral", when referring to the tea party!"

7. He can be extremely annoying.
He likes the game of politics too much which takes him from side to side of an issue. I believe that his special on the Rise of the Right is not going to be a glorification of the teabaggers, but more of a look into what is fueling them. I think that Matthews thinks that they are nuts and he would prefer that everyone participate in the traditional political arena rather than what the right wingers are doing nowadays.

3. I've had enough. I've stopped tuning in to him. He's nuts.
He's not adding anything of value to anything. He's just recycling what every talking head is saying and he's doing it as if he thinks he an original thinker!

I can do without this guy...

8. I want Tweety and the rest of them to tell me how they
the RETHUGS and the Blue Dogs would have reacted if Obama had introduced fundamental changes to MMS and to the energy industry had this disaster not occurred. This is a direct consequence of the lack of regulations from Reagan to now.

Tweety is one of this airy fairy Americans who believe America can fix anything- well they should have known how to fix this mess before making this mess. Fuck Tweety - he's terrified to even call himself a liberal so he too would have attacked Obama if he had taken on the 'drill baby drill' crowd.

9. Whether you believe the Obama Administration is handling this crisis well or not,
the corporate media will most assuredly paint it as a Republican positive and Democratic negative.

Just as the Limp One recently tried to blame environmentalists for this catastrophe instead of the corporations; most directly responsible or the Republican Party which has consistently fought against both the development of sustainable, environmentally safe forms of energy and government oversight/regulation of corporate power.

Matthews is no different and as election time rolls closer, his true colors will become more apparent.

Thanks for the thread, spanone.

10. "Off his meds"
Please don't use that phrase.

Millions of people struggle with mental health conditions on a day-to-day basis, and have to contend with the stigmatization that goes along with these conditions. When you use phrases like this, it only feeds and reinforces ignorant and outdated conceptions about mental health threatment.

Kindly knock it off.

13. "On his meds" would be a better description but only if he had been evaluated by a professional.
Which he hasn't been, obviously.

I kinda thought he was ok for awhile there, but now I see he's just very strange. He has these weird mood swings, and frankly, I stay away from people with mood swings like that...they are no fun to deal with, even trouble, and I gravitate away from them...

He's playing to the MSM and that's a shame. He could have been more independent but he can't seem to bring himself to do that...

too bad, Chris, you coulda been a contender...

11. I wonder if that's wishful thinking on his part.
I wouldn't mind seeing Nick Pozzi consulted but I don't see this losing us a lot of seats on its own.
