Obama will meet with Governor Jan Brewer tomorrow to discuss "matters of mutual interest"
Edited on Wed Jun-02-10 09:32 PM by Bluebear
PHOENIX - Gov. Jan Brewer is going to get her face-to-face meeting with President Obama.

The White House confirmed late Tuesday the president intends to make some time Thursday to sit down with the Arizona governor to hear her concerns about border security. No specific time has been set.

The announcement is a sharp reversal from the rebuff the White House delivered last week to the governor when she first asked for time with Obama.

At that time, a White House spokesman said that Obama's schedule "doesn't allow for a meeting" but that the president "does intend to sit down with the governor in the future."

That future apparently is now.

According to the White House, the president "looks forward to discussing matters of mutual interest with Gov. Brewer." That specifically includes what the administration has been doing on border security since the president took office.

2. She got her meeting only a day after she demanded it. I would have let her swing in the breeze a bit
more. She is going to spin this as a win, just as she did taking credit for the Prez giving Rep. Giffords the troops on the border. He didn't do it for Brewer but she insists she bullied him into it. He should have had her wait a month at least.

The rest of us are put on hold and listen to Muzak.

Was it Paine-Weber that did the commercials I am sort of referring to?

4. Jan Brewer
is the only US Governor who does not have a college education. She was not elected, but appointed when Gov. Janet Napolitano went to work for the Obama Administration.

Methinks our President will have to speak v e r y s l o w l y and not use big words.
