Rove Attacks Obama for Commemorating Memorial Day Outside of Arlington, Struck by How Many Troops Miss Bush

Karl Rove goes after President Obama for spending Memorial Day in Chicago instead of at Arlington and tells everyone how much the military loves our former warmonger and chickenhawk-in-chief with this fable.

Rove: I know that there's some concern in the military that they don't feel that he sort of gets it. There's an emotional bond between any Commander in Chief and the military. There is a professional bond, there's a Constitutional bond, but there's also an emotional bond and this President sometimes I think that relationship is strained. I'm struck by how many people I see when I go through airports in military uniforms that come up to me and say "Please tell my former Commander in Chief I miss him". And I appreciate the kind sentiments towards President Bush but it also disturbs me a little bit, but I get a sense that they don't feel as they have a close relationship with the Commander in Chief as they used to have.

Gee Karl, maybe if he decided to play dress up and pretended to land an aircraft on a flight carrier that would all change. I believe military personnel are approaching Karl Rove in airports and telling him they miss Bush about as much as I believe he didn't help out Valerie Plame.

2. Did Rove criticize his own boss for missing Mem day in Arlington in 2007?
I doubt it.

3. Presumably it doesn't occur to Rove that soldiers who do support Obama
aren't likely to come up to him to tell him that. But then again after this maybe they will.

16. I find this hard to believe, if he stayed still that long
to have that conversation in an airport he would have another citizens arrest. Besides what's up with the touchy feely military Karl, they are just there to obey orders. My little brother is in the military and they hardly ever talk politics, of course he is in the very young crowd but still. My opinion this is just propaganda by the right trying to say the military does not respect the President, kinda how Faux cut out all the applause lines at the President's west point speech, then claimed technical error, yeah right!

18. In addition to the fact that I do not believe this to be true
who cares?

Soldiers, marines, etc. have a duty to shut up, snap a crisp salute, say "sir yes, sir!" and carry out their commander in chief's orders.

I also believe that there is an inherent predisposition among the troops to support the commander in chief, no matter who it is.

24. Reagan skipped Memorial Day Arlington Cemetery event four times!!!
But I forgot the details of Reagan's failures to attend the ceremony at Arlington Cemetery.

BTW:
President George W. Bush wasn't at Arlington National Cemetery in 2002.

President George H. W. Bush, a World War II Veteran, no less, didn't attend a ceremony at Arlington National Ceremony at all during his Presidency.

President Ronald Reagan didn't go to Arlington National Cemetery four out of the eight years of his tenure at the White House.

Oh yeah, I do remember another situation where Reagan visited the gravesites of Nazi SS troops who killed Jewish people. Reagan honored them, but not one conservative condemned him. And Reagan also sent our soldiers to Lebanon and restricted them with rules of engagement so strict they weren't even allowed to property defend themselves. So in Reagan's strong military two suicide truck bombers simply drove their trucks into a barracks killing 241 of our soldiers in their sleep. Then, within a month Reagan CUT AND RAN by pulling out all soldiers from Lebanon. Again, where was the conservative criticism?

Conservatives either have selective memories or no memories at all. If a democratic president cut and ran like Reagan did they would be calling him a traitor and weak on defense and a coward. And if a democratic president sent 241 of our soldiers to die in their sleep conservatives would go insane with hatred and vile attacks.

Reagan was a failure in every way, but conservatives worship him like he was a god. Hannity sounds like he is having an orgasm every time he mentions Reagan. It's sickening.

26. So...the military people that want to talk to Karl Rove all seem to miss Bush.
Gee, that is a surprise.

:eyes:

Karl, did you ever think about how many military people might want to walk up to you and punch you in the face but their military discipline gives them the strength to simply walk away?
