Yup, he's just too smart for us 'muricans.

What I saw and heard was an intelligent human leader speaking rationally, coherently, concretely, and addressing short and long range needs.

What Scabs and Tweety and the Jonathan ALTER book have been pushing for weeks is that OBAMA is unemotional, removed, cold, and uninvolved. Tweety has quelled the thrill on his leg and reverted to lusting after the BLUSTER of Shrub and his codpiece.

2. If only Obama would put on a flight suit and grab a bull horn.
Keith jumped on the Obama needs to <EMOTE> bandwagon last week as well.

They seem to forget that people chose Obama's cool, calm demeanor over hothead McCain

3. There is nothing wrong with hoping that someone will feel deeply enough about something
to realize he needs to take strong, well-considered action against it.

It's not that anyone wants him to be a hotheaded person who does irrational things out of passion. That's a straw-man accusation.

4. So he has to publicly weep in order to seem like he cares?
Edited on Tue Jun-01-10 11:49 AM by ecstatic
I don't get it. We don't know the emotions he may have displayed behind closed doors.

Also, sometimes opening the door even a tiny bit for emotions to shine through can open up the flood gates. Why even go there when Beck and all of them would just attack the entire incident as fake?

6. It has to do with perceptions
I would like to see him take the fight to them and see him working for real change, call people out for their stands, if he fails in the fight then so be it. I do not see any real change so that is all I am left with.

9. That is not what I am saying
Edited on Tue Jun-01-10 12:27 PM by Angry Dragon
Obama tries to listen to all sides and tries to come to some form of consensus. I do not think this has served him well. He gives up too much to just get something passed. He needs to draw a line in the sand and never crosses that line. He needs to let the people know who is blocking what, even people in his own party. I am not saying he needs to yell and shout but to be a strong looking leader.

Maybe I am not using the right words to convey my feelings.

10. Thanks for taking the time to write that.
I think that is a real valid way to look at it.

I guess I was responding more to this media obsession that Obama must emote and get visibly angry.

5. Media wants him to "EMOTE" - that is different than "strong, well considered action"

7. While he is at it he should use that rolled up sock the way bush did.
A guy in a flight suit who was to chicken to join his unit in Viet Nam and hid for the term of the conflict. Then the secret service arrested those who asked the question "Where was Bush during the Viet Nam conflict".
