If you are interested in watching more than a tiny fraction of the news and views - Livestation
makes available the excellent Al Jazeera English as well as German, French Russian and Iranian broadcasts in English, as well as in other languages, and much more.

http://www.livestation.com/

There is also a standalone player so you don't have to watch through a browser that is available for PC, Mac and Linux as well as for mobile devices.

All free, unless you want to subscribe to a very high bandwidth stream.

1. Thanks. I don't even bother watching U.S. corporate propaganda.
Maybe this will actually give me news.

2. Thanks. I'll see if it works for me.
I do get BBC, Democracy Now!, Al Jazeera and Mosaic on my Sat TV, so I'm not as deprived as others.

Is there an easy way to hook up a computer feed to your tv?

Nevermind. I googled.

8. Thanks to you and others for taking a look at this valuable resource. A note about AJE for those
Edited on Tue Jun-01-10 02:03 AM by ConsAreLiars
who never looked at the actual broadcasts. Do so. They actually have reporters all over the world. Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nigeria, Malaysia, Nigeria, Columbia, The aid ships, Gaza before during and after the attack, the US, Europe, India....

A far wider network than all the Coorporate Media in the US combined. And they produce several weekly half-hour documentary specials focusing on on a wide range of areas. 'People and Power,' '101 East,' 'Faultlines,' are among the weeklies, and there are also many specials. If you go the the homepage ( http://english.aljazeera.net/ ) you will find current news and docs on every part of this small green, brown and blue marble. All without commercial interruptions. Livestation does run a short ad when changing from one channel to another, but AJE only runs an occasional brief ",,,is brought to you by...."

Since you have solved the stream-to-TV puzzle, you might look at the one-time $20 upgrade to see if it is of value to you: http://www.livestation.com/products/45-livestation_pro .

(edit tiny typo, now two)

10. thank you for the link
Because Rachel wasn't on tonight, I watched the BBC World News, which I've watched before for a few minutes at a time but rarely for the full broadcast, because, you know, Rachel.

DAMN. That is some good shit.

That's the way news is supposed to be. All facts-y and stuff.
