On a day when war dead are remembered
(flame me if you wish)
I think it would be a great time to call into question those who take us to war. A true analysis of every conflict we have been in, of every base we have strung across the world should be accounted for.
Those who died did not lead us to war. And for the most part those who led to war did not die.
And often those who led us to war did so not for legitimate reason, but to help the elite and privileged.
One of the great leaps forward for this country was that Congress - a group of people - had to declare war, not just one person.

Sorry. I just get so sick of the glorification of war. 60 years I have been alive, and have yet to see a war that needed to be fought by this country.

1. You don't think Pearl Harbor merited a response?

2. Pearl harbor was before his time.

69 years ago. Korea 60.

The rest of them, a waste of lives, money and time.

I would add an exception for the Taliban, but that could have been taken care of with special forces and probably $100 million dollars in the right hands.

Every one of those trillions we spent on other wars would have been better spent here at home or making friends instead of enemies.

3. This is going to be a very contentious issue.
Many of us completely agree with you, but there's still the bunch that thinks the occupations are 'necessary' so we can 'win'.

k&red back to zero.
