(AP) - The Kentucky Senate, reacting to a divisive comment by Republican Rand Paul, has adopted a resolution declaring any form of discrimination to be inconsistent with American values.

Louisville Democratic Sen. Gerald Neal introduced the resolution Friday during a special session on the state budget. It was adopted without objection in the predominantly Republican chamber.

Neal, Kentucky's only black state senator, said he took personal offense at the comment made last week by Paul, a U.S. Senate candidate, who was criticizing the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Paul said in an MSNBC interview that the federal government shouldn't have the power to force restaurants to serve minorities if business owners don't want to.

Neal said Paul's "extreme belief" has made Kentucky "a laughingstock."

This shit is getting old and tiresome. Most Kentuckians know that, despite his weird libertarian views, Rand Paul is not a racist.

I wish someone would look into real issues that might resonate with Kentucky voters like the blatant nepotism exhibited when he hired in-law Jesse Benton as campaign manager.

6. Do you know Rand Paul personally? Do you know anyone who knows him personally?

Have you ever done business with him? Do you know anyone who does business with him? Are you one of his neighbors or do you know any of his neighbors? Are you a patient of his or do you know any patients of his?

If not then you don't know what the f*ck you talking about.

I'm just saying, as a Kentucky voter and resident of his hometown, that this "Rand is a racist" line of attack is not going to go very far in these parts. There is more than enough track record in his personal & professional life that no thinking person here buys the "Rand is a Ku Kluxer" line.

If the Dems want to win the election in November then the strategists are going to need to focus on issues and events that matter in the Bluegrass state. And there's plenty there to sink the Tea Party Titantic.
