A News Network Shouldn't Take Holidays Off
What's with MSNBC just shutting down on weekends and holidays? That's ridiculous. News doesn't stop happening just because it's Saturday or Memorial Day.

MSNBC is my favorite in regards to their prime-time lineup. But on holidays and weekends, they go from news station to cheap infomercial and reality show channel.

1. Agreed.
CNN seems to do the same thing - take the weekend off.

2. They don't want to pay overtime?
CNN has less of an excuse - they're meant to be an international operation, operating in multiple time zones and countries.

There's a certain expectation that the kind of news MSNBC concentrates on will decrease - Congress not sitting, nor courts, stock markets closed and businesses not making many press releases. And the 24 hour channels have to fill a lot of it with gossip about the above (unless they make a real (expensive) effort to report a lot from around the world).
