Poll question: What motivates the gop in Congress?
I really go back and forth on this. I feel a lot of the venom spewed by them is based in fear. They see that the white male power structure can not be sustained much longer and they are scared. Then again I think most of them just want to keep their cushy jobs with perks and little fiefdoms along with the money that rolls in from their corporate bosses.

1. The same things that motivate any career politician, including most Democrats

A desire to maintain power and gain personal wealth.

GOPers pandering to white Christians, or whoever, is simply that - Pandering to a selected audience in order to gain contributions and votes.

I think most politicians are reptilian when it comes to personal beliefs. They'll do whatever it takes to get fed.

They have already lost power. They have turned it over to their corporate overlords for money. Now they fear losing the money stream:scared:.
