(05-26) 08:28 PDT PHILADELPHIA, (AP) --

Airline officials are trying to figure out how a sleeping passenger was left aboard a flight for four hours after it landed in Philadelphia.

According to police and the Transportation Security Administration, the passenger didn't wake up when her United Express flight from Dulles airport outside Washington landed shortly after midnight Tuesday. At about 4 a.m., a cleaning crew found her.

United Airlines says they're working with a regional partner carrier to determine why the plane wasn't cleared upon landing.

3. I've been that sleep deprived before...
But, damn.. Didn't that plane get hot once they shut everything down? I think I would have awakened but then again, i have experienced the kind of coma-like sleep that comes from too much sleep loss. May she get some down time soon in a far more comfortable environment.

5. I was coming home from work
one day and went to sleep on the Greyhound Bus. Many years ago that I hate to remember. The bus driver knew my stop, I was a daily. He stopped the bus where I got off and woke me up. But I would have slept all the way to the end of the line if he hadn't. Never again did I drop off.

6. That's the 3rd story like this I've read in past couple of months
A few weeks ago they left a blind woman on the plane. Before that a guy was woken in the maintenance hangar by the maint crew. FA's are probably so pissed at the crappy job they have these days with the less than great pay they no longer do a final walkthrough.

7. I always check the plane at the end of the night
I'm an airline captain and I always walk the entire cabin at the end of the night to make sure nobody or nothing gets left behind. But, that's just me.
