E-mail from Democracy for America (DFA)
I opened this expecting a solicitation for a political donation, or for my sig on a petition or letter. But no, they want me to visit their store and buy stuff!

Now, this is not to disparage DFA. They do a lot of good work. And I haven't visited their store yet, but when I have a chance I'll take a look and see if they have some progressive items I want to buy (right after I order my DU coffee mug).

For anyone who may not be on their mailing list, I thought I'd share this.

(pinboy3niner) -

Democracy for America means building a strong progressive base in all 50 states.

Our work means that Joe Sestak has a real shot at winning in Pennsylvania this November -- and that Elaine Marshall in North Carolina is on her way towards shaking up the U.S. Senate too. And it means that Bill Halter in Arkansas has a fighting chance to replace the Senate's worst Democrat on June 8th.

Democracy for America means that I joined Governor Dean and almost 100,000 other DFA members in calling on President Obama to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell this year. Our DFA fields programs -- Campaign Academy, Night School, and Dean Corps -- mean that thousands of progressives each year build and strengthen their skills as activists.

And for me, DFA means walking into an office filled with progressive, hard working, talented staff members, who are here to support the work we all do as a community. We're proud to work for you -- and proud of the work we've done together. Now, we've got new ways to show it.

Check out the new gear in the DFA store.

But that's not it. When you get your DFA t-shirt, hoodie, water bottle, training manual or bumper sticker, take a picture with it. Email me your picture and a few words about what DFA means to you (My email will be included in the email receipt you'll receive for your order) and over the next couple of months, I'll post stories and pictures from all over the country on our blog. I think it's a great way to start the conversation about what DFA means to all of us in the progressive community and sell some cool stuff too.

So, what do you say? Grab your favorite item from the store. Then start the conversation and tell us what DFA means to you.

Thank you for everything we do together.
