Jones: 'World does not revolve around' defendant

By Kevin Braley
Herald Times Reporter

MANITOWOC — A former Manitowoc County Marine recruiter described the hardships he's endured since being charged with a number of crimes, including sexual assault and false imprisonment.

"It's hard for me to pick up the pieces of my life," Donny Rage, 30, said at his sentencing hearing Friday in Manitowoc County Circuit Court. "I've dishonored the Marine Corps. I have nothing to show for my 10 years of service. This is going to be with me the rest of my life."

While Rage spoke of how he's been impacted by his actions, Manitowoc County Assistant District Attorney Doug Jones said Rage is not the victim.

"Mr. Rage enjoyed his position in the community that allowed for great power of abuse," Jones said. "He needs to be reflective and learn that the world does not revolve around him and that he was not betrayed. It was the victims who were betrayed."

Rage was sentenced to one year in jail and three years probation for a single count of false imprisonment. In a plea deal with Jones, seven other charges were dismissed — including four counts of sexual assault.

Rage was charged after an 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl accused the recruiter of sexual assault and holding them against their will in April and May 2006.

7. yes -- but he is the victimizer -- not the victim.
his wording draws him back to the center of the universe -- where all things revolve around him.

that's disturbing.

Narcissists never have any empathy.. everything is always about them.. and they are always the aggrieved party..

2. "Incarceration isn't going to benefit the victim,"
Wow, so now he's the victim, not the girls he raped? :grr:

5. All he did was feel up some chicks
And they probably liked it. They're probably dogs who were lucky to get some attention.

They are the ones who dishonored the Marines. Not him!
