I have noticed over the last 7 days that Republicans and libertarians have posed as Democrats and have expressed a preference for Ron Paul. Someone ought to investigate this and expose it further.

A Republican holds two guns to a poor person's head. A Libertarian holds one gun towards a poor person's head.

The 2 guns refer to social authoritarianism and private economic authoritarianism.

1. I have nothing personal against Ron Paul. But there's just no way he's
getting my vote.

I like his wife, though. Those fish sticks are pretty tasty.

2. I've also heard a LOT of repubs saying they're switching sides.
And then another republican will call in and say that they are fake republicans.

I wonder if some are actually fake, and if there really is a crossover candidate?

3. I don't know, think about it.
A Libertarian calls for a "stick to the basics" kind of government. After all the shit we've been thru in the past six years.............

5. I would agree...
In the unlikely chance that Ron Paul was nominated and won, I dont think him vetoing everything he thought was unconsitutional would be nearly as bad as what we have now.

4. Well by your comparision that would defintely be the lesser of two evils...
dont you agree?

It seems alot of Americans dont actually like the candiates they vote for but simply vote for the lesser of two evils.

7. Well the Republicans have used the social issues as ballast.
The Republicans would use the social issues to draw people away from voting Democratic and then when Republicans get elected they like just enough government to stop regulating corporations and giving corporations great deals like Medicare Part D. Then you also get the Vioxx deaths, the Ford Explorer Firestone Tire rollover and explosion deaths, Mineworker deaths and now I suspect people will die as a result of the passage of the junk Medicare Part D program with the coverage gap.

Ron Paul may call for the government to stop socially harrass people but he appears a strong privatizer.
Ron Paul would dismantle social security and medicare, although Bush has done a good job of the destruction of medicare as well.

Bush had to appeal to more idiots than Ron Paul does.

9. How would Ron Paul do that without a congress to go along with him...
Presidents do not rule by decree, executive orders not withstanding, atleast not yet.

All he could really do is veto bills and if he were really way out there on them then the veto would get overriden. I doubt Ron Paul could get Social Security or Medicare dismantled.

If nothing a do nothing president is alot better than one that does something that fucks everything up.

6. This is why I never watch those C-SPAN call-in shows.
I learn enough about them just reading the comments here. It sounds like they are being heavily gamed. How do you know who you are listening to?

12. Agree. Some of the callers sound really informed and focused, but
a few of them I'm sure are calling from some sort of hallucinogenic drug testing center in Fort Wayne.

19. The picture with Quitt Romney looks like he's going to stick it to America.
Look at the glove he's putting on in that picture. It looks like he has a plan for America and he will use a rubber glove to do it. LOL

15. Paul is resourceful and savvy enough to make inroads if he had some
backing.

A lot of Republican voters are going to attempt to ignore him, and the less cash he has, the easier that will be.

Most Democrats have no reason to jump to Paul when they have many good candidates to choose from in our primaries.

I don't know who his constituency is. Or rather, I don't think the constituency he attracts is big enough to be threatening to either major party.
