what is left for the repukes?
Their self imposed image of conservative fiscal responsibility is out the window; the keepers of morality died ages ago; their claims to being Christians (whatever that means) is a dubious one at best; their hypocritical outrage and hatred against homosexuals has imploded; their level of corruption puts even the dems to shame; their constant opposition to any legislation which might help the typical American to just stay afloat shows their concern for the people and their utter cupidity should leave no doubt as to their so called integrity. So what is left and what does it say about us a people when these cretins are constantly being re elected? Not much i'm sad to say.

2. They can always claim success
Facts, and their well-known liberal bias notwithstanding, Republicans are very good at claiming success where there is none, and taking credit for things they didn't do. Witness the wave of Republican office-holders who voted against stimulus funds, but who nevertheless got out in front of the cameras when it was time to hand out the big novelty check for some project or another.

And because Democrats are very bad at calling them out on this, and Republicans brazen their own lies so forcefully that the media chuckleheads get all confused, they'll keep it up. Until an actual idea comes along, but that could take a long time.

3. I'm afraid the answer is plain and obvious.
The GOP wants to be seen as fiscally rational, morally superior, and full of "Christian" integrity. Clearly, they are none of these things. So in order to appear fiscally wise and moral, they will depict Democrats as fiscally unwise, and immoral, and dangerously corrupt. Then by comparison, they look better. It's what they did to liberals; they made liberals look so terrible conservatism looked better. It's what they always do, and it's what they'll do in the future.

The worse the GOP gets, the more vicious their attacks will be on Democrats. By necessity.

4. Their almost-total dominance of the media enable them to air their lies with little
rebuttal.

Repeat a lie...

Add in the ignorance and selfishness and stupidity of the American people and the reality we are witnessing should not be a surprise.
