Deputies called to remove campaign workers
The Associated Press

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- State and local officials say backers of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul have been removed by sheriff's deputies from an eastern Kentucky polling place after complaints that they were harassing voters.

Officials say Paul supporters were also asked to leave precincts in another county Tuesday while conducting exit polling.

Paul's campaign manager, David Adams, called the allegations "dubious," saying Democrats may have been behind the incidents.

Secretary of State spokesman Les Fugate said voters complained of harassment and electioneering by Paul supporters in Laurel County and exit polling in Jackson County. Secretary of State Trey Grayson is Paul's primary opponent on the ballot.

Laurel County Clerk Dean Johnson confirmed that deputies were called to remove Paul supporters from a polling place and the incident remains under investigation.

2. Links...

I hear that the Paul campaign sent emails to supporters in Republican counties to show up at polling locations to inspect voting machines, do exit polling and wear campaign shirts outside of the polls.

And in many instances, sheriffs were called by poll workers to remove them.

The AP should have a story out soon on the matter. But. Uh. Way to go, Paulbots. Keep declaring it’s your constitutional right to do exit polling without first registering with the powers that be.

and here

Allegations of vote buying and voter intimidation came early and often to the state’s election fraud hotline Tuesday morning.

The vote fraud hotline received 14 calls before 9:45 a.m., according to Allison Martin, spokeswoman for Attorney General Jack Conway’s office.

Martin said three calls had been received involving vote buying or selling in Clay County; two in Perry County; and one each in Leslie and Magoffin counties.

There also have been calls from Clay County regarding an election official and “electioneering” or campaigning too close to the polls, she said.

10. Like father, like son. The son has learned from Dad's tricks pretty well.
However, that's not good news for the rest of us.
