Hang Deep Water Horizon around Republicans' necks this November
Imagine the TV ad.....

...black and white video of the 2008 GOP convention... with haunting choruses of "drill, baby, drill" being chanted by the delegates as Sarah Palin smiles at the podium.... then show pictures of Deep Water Horizon sinking... followed by pictures of the oil-related devastation.

Then show newspaper headlines from back when Cheney had his closed-door energy policy meetings... "Cheney Keeps Energy Talks Quiet"...

...all with ominous music in the background.

Then show Mitch McConnell twisting himself in knots trying to defend limiting the liability of BP....

The GOP never hesitates to use national disasters, real or imagined, for political gain (see 9/11, see Iraq war buildup, etc).

The least we can do is hang BP, Haliburton, and TransOcean around Cheney's neck... and by extension, the entire Republican party... and by even more extension, Conservative philosophy of laisez-faire economies.

1. It will be a dead wringer..!!
The media will try to downplay the politics of the disaster, so it will be up to us to hang that flaming tire on the pubbies.

3. It would be perfect, but they won't, because Obama wants to work with them
Of course, they don't want to work with him NOW, without pointing out their shortcomings. Can you imagine the premier poutrage they would be throwing if it was used?

John Bonehead would be carrying around his bottle of Cutty Sark in public, crying about how those communists made him look bad. Eric Cantor would be on his knees, wailing about being picked on. McConnell would have to be taken to the hospital, because his chinless face would collapse because he couldn't control the shaking of his lower lip.
