Where were all the boycott calls when states discriminated against their own citizens?
All these so-called "progressive" cities/states calling for boycotts against Arizona because of SB 1070 (NOTE: I do not support SB 1070)

Question - where were all the boycott calls every time a state passed an anti-gay law? Why all the outrage over this, but silence when U.S. Citizens are being discriminated against?

1. Anti-sodomy laws were passed a long time ago
IMO if you were to see a new anti-sodomy law you'd get the same reaction.

I'm assuming that's what you mean by "anti-gay" law.

2. I recall there were calls to boycott
Against Oklahoma when it tried banning adoptions by gay people and Utah for Mormon money sent to prop 8.

Unfortunately boycotts are hard to pull off.

I also disagree with the idea that Arizona isn't discriminating against it's citizens.

At least a third of legal native Arizonans are Hispanic.

Do we keep forgetting at least a third of our country used to make up half of mexico?

3. Because there is a critcal mass that is growing.
If you could get all the glbts in the world to come here you could boycott too.

5. So, start a boycott.
Don't complain because others have managed to do so.

7. Agree 100%
I strongly support the establishment of gay-rights into our society and have given you're question much thought.

I DO support SB 1070 and am ok with checking a persons citizenship AFTER they have been stopped or detained for another infraction. 'Papers please' is nothing more than manufactured 'death panel' like BS.

But why this and not the rights of gay US citizens? Blatant discrimination.
Which voting bloc is larger? Which voting bloc is easier to gain sympathy for? Which voting bloc is more likely to vote for or against the rights of the other?

Its ALL about votes man and sadly, those of us who support gay-rights are placed at the bottom of the list.

No need to say anything else, now, is there?

9. Where was the leadership? The Latino community in AZ got on it.
And don't you be down talking Harvey Milk's state. If he had been here, HE would have led the boycott.
