"Support our troops" my ass.

I watched Mitchell tonight and could not believe that he buried the story of 8 dead soldiers behind the tornado victims, the French elections and the Queen. I did a quadruple-take.

These people are truly without morals.

1. The french elections is a very big story. What should get us angry is the
burial of why this war continues... why US troops remain in Iraq... not the story of each individual death in Iraq. Why the Democratic leadership is arguing how best to fund this war/occupation rather than working to defund it.

I also don't believe it is the job of journalists to "support the troops".
their job is to tell the truth.

2. The ridiculousness of the French-hating, the "freedom fries" was propped-up by CBS and the like.

I am sick and tired of dead American kids being forgotten, all the while I am scolded for being a traitor to my country because I want them home.

And yeah, the job of "real" journalists is to tell the truth. Tell that to them.

Bring them home.....NOW.

And I agree with you on the importance of the French elections coverage. Frankly, it shocks me that an American network would suddenly be so worldly. I have a hunch that the election would've been ignored if America's man, Sarkozy, had lost.
