Is the backlash against Kagan due to subconcious homophobia?
I see a lot more negative posts about Kagan than I saw about Sotomayor. I wonder if subconcious homophobia might be a factor?

2. I think the long view will see two entirely qualified, strong,
intelligent women chosen by this President because both deeply earned their appointments.

The Family Research Council can howl and squawk all they want.

9. Ridiculous. She's bad on some key issues.
Isn't that obvious? She's terrible on key issues about government excess, a topic dear to most progressives.

12. Not seeing that. If anything, she has not "come out" and that is an issue for some.
I think most people on DU have legitimate disagreements with her nomination. The Rethugs on the other hand...

14. Glenn Greenwald is gay
Yet he has opposed Kagan based on her very thin public record. That's an argument against your theory.

21. Are you claiming she is gay?
What type of stereotypes are you running with that would lead you to draw that conclusion out of your ass?
