I thought the private sector has all the answers.
As we continue to receive news that the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico worsens, we continue to see the corporation responsible for this catastrophe essentially standing around with their fingers up their butts, looking for someone (the government) to bail them out.

Just like Wall Street and its investment banks.

Just like the auto manufacturers.

Just like the airlines.

Just like a lot of other areas of the private sector.

If the private sector is inherently superior, as the RW belligerently tells us through their manipulated media every day, then none of these economic disasters would have occurred, let alone required massive bailouts costing us billions of dollars.

This should serve as a wakeup call for everyone to tell the free trade/free market/no government idiots to STFU.

Sorry, if I hadn't been paying much attention to current events.

4. The Times Square bomber almost got away on one of their planes.
The private sector (AKA the airline in question) was supposed to catch him because he had been placed on the no-fly list. But they didn't catch him. They fucked up. The government (the FBI) had to step in and grab him.

:toast: Congrats on distilling this into a very easily undertood and impossible to argue with soundbite. Too bad no one on our side (in a leadership position) seems able to use soundbites. They're very effective.

6. They do have all the answers...
They influence government to eliminate their taxes and then when they get into trouble they make us pay for their mistakes.

That seems like a pretty clear answer to me.

7. Like most things....
...nobody goes to the trouble of inventing solutions to problems until they show up.

In this case, it's something that hasn't shown up before, or they would already have a solution.

Reminds me of Katrina. They knew it was a possibility, but once it happened, how could they respond to a disaster when every road and airport in the area was washed out? It took time to get past that problem and it'll take time to get past this one.

8.  And when they really eff up, you can vote them out of office. Oh wait, no you can't.
Such a dumb way of thinking that blood-sucking corporate interests with multi-billion dollars in revenue are the best answer to every problem. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
