MSNBC just had "breaking" and "shocking" news on their programming: 80 year old Barbara Walters will have heart valve replacement surgery. This was followed by a celebration of Betty White's SNL turn. I thoroughly enjoyed Betty's bawdy performances on SNL this past Saturday. It may even have been my week's high point. I wish Ms. Walters only the best: a successful surgery, a quick recovery, and a long life. NEITHER of these stories are NEWS. Dead soldiers? What dead soldiers? Oil? Where? Who? :eyes:

New is no longer news, it is nothing more than the equivalent of standing in line at the grocery store and reading the headlines on the gossip papers.

12. Bombs targeting Iraqi police officers killed 84 today -
as required by treaty, no US soldiers were involved. So WHY are we still there?

14. And you tune into that nonsense... why?
I manage to stay blissfully uninformed about the state of Barbara Walters' health by not turning on the TV... you ought to try it.

16. Do you know what sucks?
The BBC doesn't have a push app for my iPod. Fox has one and apparently it's the most popular one. So I'm stuck with MSNBC. I know that app developers can do better than this.

17. But Steve Jobs will have to give his blessing. You can't put an app on an iPhone without asking...
"Mother may I". So if Steve Jobs decides he doesn't like the BBC, you don't get the BBC. Period. Whereas, with an Android phone, you don't have such a problem.

18. But there is an app for the iPAD, but not the iPOD
Personally, I blame the Beeb. I think that they're slacking off on app development. I say that because some of their radio apps haven't moved past the beta stage.
