A wandering sea lion pup that got lost and was spotted walking along a street alone at 4am has been freed after hiding under a police car. The animal was captured after hiding under a San Diego police car for four hours in the middle of a road.

That's when the sea lion came out from under another car and scuttled under the patrol car. SeaWorld experts retrieved the growling pup at about 8 a.m.

He says the pup weighs about 25 pounds — less than half what it should weigh. Robinson says it will be released within two months.

Poor baby! It could have been the worst place to hide if one of the police fools had been in charge.
