Imagine bush walking down the street alone in any American town.
It backfired badly when mc cain went to Baghdad to prove how safe it was to walk down the streets there, with his heavily armed herd of soldiers in tow, and choppers circling overhead, just a stroll down the street in Indiana.

I often wonder what would happen if they just dropped bush off in Anytown, U.S.A. with a camera crew to capture the action. w walking into a diner for breakfast with the farmers and truck drivers and waitresses and cooks, and have little 'diner chats' with the common man and woman.

Or dubya walking into a warehouse, alone, popping by the break room for coffee and danish with the crew, I wonder how that'd go?

Remember when President William Jefferson Clinton used to do this? Just walk down the street without the Secret Service hovering around him like hyenas, shaking hands, talking to folks, could bush get away with that right about now, with his approval numbers below that of Satan?

Or if he walked into a REAL town hall meeting, no pre-screened guests or audience, just him and a few hundred random Americans right in off the street. I wonder how that would go? I wonder if he has the guts to do that? Yeah, right, big tough talking president, off script, answering real questions from real citizens, real sci-fi stuff huh?

1. Maybe you can team up with Steven Spielberg
with a far out idea like that, it might make a good movie. I wonder how much time the chimp ever spent with ordinary folks.

15. Bush will ride into town with a pair of six guns strapped to his sides
and when some goons attack one of the gold miners in broad daylight, Bush will grab a piece of hickory and beat them to a pulp, saying "nothin' like a good piece o' hickory".

And then the gold miner to show his gratitude will invite Bush back to his camp for "three hots and a cot" and when Bush rides into camp on his horse, a 15 year old girl will be reading the Bible saying "and behold a pale Chimp, and he who rode upon him was Gannon".

18. "and behold a pale chimp..."
Thanks, I just spilled coffee all down my shirt. That would make a great title for a book about Bush. LOL

3. He'll never be free to roam again; too bad, after 10 years, he loses
his SS detail.
And I think I'd prefer to see him dropped off in a big city where people might be more savvy as to what destruction he has wrought.

11. Clinton never walked around without his secret service protection
it was just more subtle. but don't worry, there were plently of well trained, highly armed men and women around him at all times.

14. But the fact that they could remain in the background speaks volumes.
When was the last time any sentient non-Bushbot was allowed in the same room with *? The debates with John Kerry?

I hate cutesy names for a crime against nature like *, but Bubbleboy really is a good descriptor. It makes me physically ill to think about his degree of self-satisfaction when he has caused so much suffering.

19. Yes, I believe since Reagan and Brady were shot, the SS
is far more vigilant in protecting Presidents than in the past. Reagan too liked to swim into the crowd like Clinton, a major headache for those protecting them.

17. I seem to remember hearing about something similar to this
on DU a while back - of course he wasn't alone, but Chimpoleon and his crew went into a diner in Peoria (I think?) and pretty much got the cold shoulder. It was excellent.
