While the whole world has been watching the latest eco-disaster unfold, another consequence of the Cheney-Bush regime is getting mostly local press. Both are related in their roots and their tragic consequences. Eight years of rule by the Gunky Oil Party made Mother Earth’s arterial bleeding into the Gulf of Mexico all but inevitable. A few miles from my home, another victim fell in a spreading pool of his own blood last weekend. An Iraq war veteran, who really needed help, got five rounds of the taxpayers bullets instead. There will be a grand jury hearing to determine if the two law officers were at fault. They will likely be found to have justifiably taken this veteran’s life. The guilt of George W. Bush will not be considered.

1. There are so many wounded souls lately I don't know if we will ever recover...

I'm seeing all these terrorists who have maybe turned into terrorists or criminals because of circumstances in their lives like foreclosure, divorce, etc. I mean there are so many people in despair and we are seeing suicide, people turning to terrorism or killing people or what have you, and I just see it as society falling apart at the seams, instead of just individual cases of crazy.

I feel like we are really falling apart as a society, and wonder if we can ever be glued back together.

Another tormented victim of the Bush/Cheney 8 year catastrophic reign of terror. The repercussions of those eight years, and it's continued policies, will take many decades, or more, before we ever know the entire magnitude of their destruction.
