The Commander Guy didn't make TIME's 100 most influential people.
Edited on Sat May-05-07 07:53 AM by Cyrano
The horror. The horror. How could a national magazine such as TIME leave out Commander Guy? Don't they remember this brave, virtuous hero striding triumphantly across the deck of an aircraft carrier, decked out in full combat regalia? Don't they recall how manly he looked, parachute straps pulled tight, crotch fully packed, helmet held firmly in his iron grasp? Don't his strong, defiant words that comforted the truly Godly still ring in their ears?

I, for one, can still see that steely glint of determination in his rugged features when he was first informed in that classroom that we had been attacked. The way he quickly leaped to his feet and strode out with the sole purpose of visiting immediate and deadly justice on evil doers everywhere.

TIME magazine must be made to pay for this dastardly insult to our great Commander Guy. We must all rise up, throw open our windows, stick our heads out and shout "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." It's a dark day indeed and we must all rise up to protect the honor of our beloved Commander Guy. Dick Cheney and Karl Rove would expect no less of us and we should expect no less of ourselves.

And don't forget to fax or email Commander Guy to offer your condolences for this dreadful slight to his greatness. As I leave to do my morning chores, a cloud of gloom hangs over me. These are dark days for America.

1. Maybe "The Commander Guy"
can bounce back and make Time's "100 Most Hated People" list. He has the potential of placing in the top ten on this one.

2. Speaking of TIME, Hitler made Man of the Year at least once...
if I'm not mistaken, I know he was on the cover. Maybe bush is trying reach the same level of carnage that Hitler left history with? H

He probably asked to be left out of the list because of his modesty....:eyes:

3. Hitler was almost named Person of the Century, but PC kicked in between 1936 and 1999.

4. Considering that the 20th Century was the bloddiest ever...
between Hitler, Stalin and Tojo, Hitler is probably the worst, but the carnage inflicted by all, is incredible in its scope.

When WWI, is added, it looks like there was only a break to bring European population back up to start again. Add all of the other wars, brush fires and Pol Pot style insanity and I am surprised any form of civilization survived at all across this globe.

5. Commander Guy could outdo these specimens of the past.
After all, they didn't have nuclear weapons. And we all know that our valiant, strong, unshakable, determined Commander Guy is not one to be outdone. I choke up every time I think of what our country would be without him.

10. I really hope there is some form of "fail-safe" option w/the
'football'. The thought that this maniac can start a pre-emptive nuclear strike is really pretty scary, if not downright terrifying. There is the distinct possibility that bush thinks he is ordained by God to bring about Armageddon, and w/some of the bat-shit crazies he's known to pal around with, he just might fall over the edge.

11. I couldn't agree more. This mindless man is fully capable of
launching an unprovoked nuclear strike. And who's to stop him? Cheney? Rove?

I fully believe that if these people find themselves cornered, they wouldn't hesitate for a moment to use nuclear weapons as a "distraction." Assuming we survive this criminal administration, a system must be put in place to prevent any madman from using these weapons. Not to mention a way to keep any madman from ever again getting into a position to use them in the first place.

12. I think there is something in the works that keeps a president
from just making a unilateral decision. Seems to me there has to be, or else the system is really screwed up. He might be the final authority, but the notion that a unilateral nuclear strike can be started w/a single person that could go off the edge at any time, (any president), is beyond comprehension...

6. Have you seen how the WH is trying to spin that stupid "commander guy"
comment.

They must get dizzy just trying to explain away all the stupid stuff Bush does and says. Has to be exhausting for them.

8. That what he was really saying was that he was a "commander" guy.
That he believes in his commanders.

Too funny.

9. Jeeez, they really bend themselves into pretzels trying to explain away
the things Commander Guy says. Ooops. Am I allowed to mention him and pretzels in the same sentence?
