1. I'm beginning to think he made the whole thing up

I knew how to make crude timers in seventh grade. I knew how to make things that would reliably go boom in high school. Anyone with even a vague curiosity wouldn't even need training in murder, all the information is out there somewhere on the net, especially on jihadist sites.

Even a week of rudimentary training would have shown him how to turn the stuff in his truck into something that would have gone boom.

He's beginning to strike me as somebody who bought the American dream and had it turn to ashes in record time. The choice of target makes perfect sense, people with enough cash to be part of a theater crowd or a tourist crowd in NYC.

I feel sorry for the poor fool. That doesn't mean I want him back on the street, but it does mean I do realize where he was coming from.

Thank goodness it was a place of sheer ignorance and incompetence.

2. The asshole pundits giving "How-to" instructions on TV News...

...should have their pie holes duct taped! They need to stop explaining where this terrorist went wrong. I don't give a fuck about CNN and Fox "News" ratings - they need to stop their complicit actions in sympathy with terrorists.
