Between work and adjusting to a new routine, plus maintaining a couple of websites during the wee hours of the morning, and the regular stuff that needs to be done around the home - I just haven't had the time to sit down and draw.
I will probably be cutting back time devoted to a couple of websites, and switching to a weekly toon instead of a daily one,(more if time and ideas are available.
New job is going well, they have moved me from just doing detailing and revisions to doing arrangements. A few of my co-workers were a bit surprised at the "move" as I've only been there 4 weeks and they mentioned it was a few months before they were given 'arrangements' to draw. So I guess I'm doing really well, although I feel I've been thrown into the deep end of the pool and can only tread water.
This is a whole new type of drafting for me. Much different from drawing for a manufacturer. Plus with this company you are given pieces or sections of the project, but only have a vague idea of what the whole thing looks like and have to hunt around on many many other drawings and specifications to find bits of information. To add the excitement - each "customer" has different requirements for how they want the drawings formated. In otherwords, the standard "template" varies from job to job.
Think of it as several jig-saw puzzles where you have a generic "title" of the puzzles, but no picture and not all the pieces are in the same box. AHHHHHH!!!
Fortunately, the people at work are very patient, willing to help me muddle through. Apparantly, this structural steel drafting is very specialized and not many drafters come into the company with years of experience and knowledge - so the company is prepared for a long learning curve.
I hope to be back on track with at least a weekly toon real soon
