Sarah Palin is just plain weird.
I've always thought it strange that she drags the youngest daughter with her all over the country, but has seemingly left all the other children at home. Even her special needs child. How come she never drags him out anymore???

BTW, I've felt if she really cared about her special needs son, she'd put her considerable money making talent and energy into that direction instead of politics. Look at all that Eunice Kennedy Shriver was able to accomplish. I guess there isn't enough money in it for her.

maybe she could get a few pointers from Gordon Hartman. His love for his disables daughter produced Morgans Wonderland...check this out

http://www.morganswonderland.com/
"Morgan’s Wonderland is located in San Antonio, Texas. It is the World’s First Ultra Accessible Family Fun Park designed specifically for children and adults with special needs, their family members, caregivers, friends and the entire community. This 25-acre park is a unique oasis, that through the spirit of inclusion, allows people of all abilities to play, learn and share life changing experiences together, in a fun and safe environment."

Like I said, just plain weird. And greedy.

2. You know, as much as I dislike Sarah Palin, we need to stop
judging female politicians by how we feel about their mothering skills. We don't do that with male politicians.

17. Agreed. I've never seen anyone on DU deride the mothering skills of
Kay Bailey Hutchison, Lisa Murkowski, or other prominent Republican moms. But Palin revels in a completely fabricated "super-mom" image.

11. Yes.

If she were a man, it wouldn't even be an issue. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize her, I think we can leave her mothering skills out of it.

13. If she were a man, the child wouldn't be dragged out as a prop continuously.
sorry but Sarah Palin has made a career out of being so "pro-life" she kept Trig, and shows him off as a prop all the time. She flaunts her family and uses them as campaign stage decoration. She's the one who has made them fair game, not us.

14. Man or woman, she brings her parenting skills into the spotlight and makes the
subject fair game. She is the one bringing her parenting skills into her politics by using her children as props.

5. Self Centered...
I couldn't agree more about the contributions Eunice Kennedy-Shriver did for the handicapped. The other day they held the Special Olympics here in Chicago, the Shriver's lasting legacy that brings joy to many who have never had the ability to feel accomplishment and self worth. Mooselini...not so much. The only people she inspires are the unhinged who eat up her word salad and dog whistles like some evangelical feeding out the fire and brimstone.

It's obvious by seeing this woman function all that matters is number one. She's the hero, the martyr, the vestigal virgin...all self conceived but with the wink of an eye and a "you betcha" she can charm the pants off of Rich Loewry and set wingnut loins a-flutter. But look below the surface and you see someone whose need to fuel an ever growing ego has left a lot of debris in its wake. Her children are the biggest victims.

When it was reported that she had an autistic child...not long after McCain Schmidt selected her, I was highly critical of her using that child as a prop...handling the poor child like a sack of potatoes and then passing it off on her kids to do the hugging and bonding mom obviously didn't have enough time to deal with. She tried to play "superwoman"...the "hockey mom" that somehow could run the country as well. We soon found out what a "super mom" she was with her daughter getting preggers and her personal life turning into a reality show...and overall her reputation turning into a punchline. Instead of the sexy "maverick" she became Schmdit's worst nightmare. She also cost the rushpublicans several close races...Florida in particular.

Now that she's gone rogue (if Tina Fey even knew), it's become an ego trip of monumental proportions. She's a "celebrity-politician" with no real record of accomplishment or true ideology...just talking points and throwing out the red meat. Now we hear of daughter #2 (is that Skipper or Midge?) has gotten in trouble...and it appears mom isn't around the house much. So this is what true rushpublican "family values" is all about?

Olbermann has her pegged..."this woman is an idiot".

12. politics aside, I've always assumed her baby travels with her...
I just think the baby is either with dad or with a nanny during her public appearances. The young daughter really seems to enjoy the spotlight which is why I assume she's in it with mom.

I could be wrong about all of this of course, but that's just my personal read on the situation.

it would be nice to see Malia and Sasha out more often. I guess that would be expensive though, with the drones having to circle overhead to watch for the Jonas Brothers LOL
