Why do people pick on the rich?
What do you think of this?

"I'm tired of everyone picking on the rich. They are such a small and fragile group. And they have so many things to take care of since they own 95% of everything. And that's what 'we're' here. We're here to take care of all their property and cater to their every whim. Some cultures call what we do 'jobs', others call it 'slavery'. When you're always the servant, and the never the served, you are poor."

Anyone here have a candle I can light for the rich?

1. There are 2 groups left that it's safe to pick on.
One is the rich, the other is the intelligent.

So if you're smart AND rich, you're in big trouble.

14. Is there an 'intelligent' CEO?
But why do some think all the rich are intelligent, while the poor are stupid? Ever notice when the leaders of great corporations are asked what is going on at their companies they have no clue. Enron, Worldcom, Tobacco Industry CEOs, Wall Streeters all repeated the same things. "I am not involved in the operation of the company', "That's not my area of exertise", "I'm out of the loop in that area", or something else that means "I don't know". Well if they don't know, then why do they get millions a year?

Between the janitor in a billion dollar company and its CEO, I would choose the janitor if I had to pick one who could help survive on a desert island. The decision wouldn't even be close. Not only would I suspect the capabilities of the CEO, I know I could never trust him to kill me on the island if he thought it increased his chance of survival.

What do you think?

I know CEOs are intelligent, but how may other skills are they missing we use every day?

I LOVE your line about being rich and intelligent being in trouble... there's going to be a bigger liberal, progressive uprising that will dwarf the right wing circus...

15. Well, I separated the two.
And then I said jokingly that someone who is both would be in big trouble.

But if you want an intelligent CEO, there is Bill Gates.

Note your instant reaction to that.

23. Who said Im uncomfortable with Bill Gates?
I complemented his intelligence. He is smart enough to know that when he cannot out design and innovate, he can compensate with shrewd business practices

Kudos for jumping to the defense of the rich though. They need good men in their corner, the helpless bastards.

And then give them the option of therapies at an exclusive clinic or at their mansions so they can feel better about their wealth, and why they are entitled to everything they own, even if they never worded at all during their lives. But because they have money, they are special, someone who can be allowed to go anywhere, while we are excluded.

7. "Regular" people pick on the rich b/c they KNOW that the rich make their money
on the backs of the poor. It has ALWAYS been this way. Sometimes it has been more difficult than other times for the rich to take advantage of the poor...through laws, strength of unions, etc. Those times have been when the 'poor' have actually PROSPERED and found OPPORTUNITIES and civilization as a whole has made huge progress.

with special gifts and abilities from god... for god favors the rich over the poor. All that stuff in the Bible was written by rich guys trying to keep the poor as poor as they can. If all others are poor, they will be rich.
