Palin Tweets About Gulf Oil Spill: 'Our Prayers R W/U'

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2010/04/palin_tweets_about_gulf_oil_sp.html

Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee and a potential 2012 presidential contender, just issued this "tweet" about the massive oil slick heading for the coast of Louisiana and states to the east:

Having worked/lived thru Exxon oil spill,my family&I understand Gulf residents' fears. Our prayers r w/u.All industry efforts must b employed

Palin is, of course, known for her strong ("drill baby! drill!") support of exploring for oil and gas.

The scope of disaster in the Gulf is expected to surpass that of the 1989 Exxon Valdez spill in Alaska's Prince William Sound. In the Valdez spill, 11 million gallons of oil went into the water. In the Gulf, an estimated 200,000 gallons a day are gushing from an undersea well that was damaged in an explosion last week that destroyed the rig above and left 11 workers missing and presumed dead. It could be several months before the leak can be plugged, experts say.

9. You have to understand
In Mini-Guv's world, the government can't possibly do anything right, so it's solely up to industry (with one eye on the bottom line - if the clean-up is too expensive, well, it sucks to live on the Gulf Coast) to do anything about this. For a profit, natch. And after watching government in action for eight years when the Republicans had their incompetent, greedy hands on the control levers, who can argue her point? Except to note that it's not up to Republicans anymore to run the government's response to this disaster, so there's the barest possibility (as long as the Republicans keep their yaps shut and stay out of the way) that this can be ameliorated through government intervention.

3. Pray Baby Pray
I swear I think the concept of prayer has caused more damage than the invention of explosives.

What a convenient world-view. She considers the destruction which follows the policies she promotes to be God's will.

Another interesting reply:
PalinCellulite: RT @jeremymullman: Sarah Palin should ceremoniously light the Gulf of Mexico oil spill – Olympic flame style. #palin #sarahpalin #drillbaby
