German hotel hits back at Laura Bush poison theory

BERLIN (AFP) – A German hotel where then US President George W. Bush stayed in 2007 angrily rejected Thursday claims by his wife Laura Bush of possible poisoning, accusing her of a publicity stunt for her memoirs.

"We see absolutely no evidence to support (these allegations) at all," said Christian Ploeger, a spokesman for the Fundus Group that owns the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm in northern Germany where the Bushes stayed for a G8 summit.

"The food was checked by security staff," Ploeger told AFP.

"I suspect that this may be just to try and sell more copies of the book."

she may well believe her BS. I say this because of a weird thing that happens when folks from Texas come up here to visit. I have dog(s), my dogs do not have fleas. However anytime anyone from TX comes to visit and my dogs scratch themselves, even a quick behind the ear scratch, the Texan will say, "you're dog has fleas!" I reply, "no, the dog has an itch, and it isn't being caused by fleas or other skin critters." So maybe 6-7 hours later the dog(s) again will have a hearty scratch or gnaw on a huge bushy tail, and again they will say, the dog has fleas, see, I told you.

I don't know why this is exclusive to my Texan visitors, but it truly is. They seem incapable of considering that they themselves sometimes itch/scratch without having lice or fleas, but if a dog does, well, it's surely fleas, and I'm a bad owner for not putting a flea collar on the pets. Now this was years, nay decades ago, as I've simply quit acknowledging any of the Texan friends or relatives I used to have, but still, it was a strange and very annoying phenom.

her recent need to put more conservative bs books out in the public and love that they did not sit by and allow her remarks to go unchallenged.... now one could hope that the media would pounce on this like they do on so many other trivial matters these days but of course the fact that most Conservatives are nothing more than loud mouthed lying whiners shouting woe is me rhetoric will once again go unnoticed....
