The only Rick James saying I could think of was, "I'm Rick James, 8itch!" and I couldn't figure out how that had anything to do with anything.

"History will tell" was their lame excuse which, of course, meant that their literary operations were going to meme a new truth to what we all watched happen.

6. Yep. If only one of them “could have done more” to prevent the Iraq war..."
Utterly amazing.

:banghead:

...There are a few crumbs of political interest strewn along the way: The usually charitable Mrs. Bush chastises the Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for their “nasty personal criticisms of George,” and she writes that she has often wondered if Jacques Chirac of France or Gerhard Schröder of Germany “could have done more” to prevent the Iraq war, “if one of them could have persuaded Saddam to go into exile, if they could have conveyed that the United States was not bluffing.”...

37. Saddam wanted to go into exile. It was Saudi Arabia that rejected the
idea and that made Bush reject it (he couldn't go against his saudi brothers).

Saddam was willing to take his family and go into exile, Bush just wanted to attack Iraq - he just wanted to be at war.

I hate these people, they lie with each breath.

16. WTF?
I've been holding my hand down from a reflex slap to her mug whenever it comes up over her description of the car wreck in 1963, where she essentially blames the victim (and everything and everyone else). This is just beyond the pale. Uggh.

24. Among her excuses...
Edited on Wed Apr-28-10 09:14 PM by hlthe2b
after admitting she had plowed through--never slowing down--at a stop sign while chatting with her companion in her father's heavier than hell Chevy Impala, she blamed the dark road (which she surely traveled daily), the small size of the stop sign (ever seen a smaller than normal stop sign--ever?) and then the kicker, that her victim was driving a Corvair, with its supposed instability. She then goes on to cite Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed expose on that car. So, because he was not driving a tank, and the fact that she literally was, she means to imply shared culpability on someones part--certainly not her own. Then she goes on to blame her parents for the fact she never apologized to the parents, did not attend the funeral, and pretty much went on about her own little entitled life--claiming they wouldn't let her.... And, while it has been alleged that he was her boyfriend (I have no idea, either way), she barely acknowledges him as a schoolmate, much less anything else. Oh, and then her final scapegoat--GOD! (who in not answering her prayers to reverse the damage done by her two ton tank car crushing this young man in a tangle of metal wreckage, but "allowing" him to die, then tested her religious faith for years....). So, you see it was every damned thing and person's fault, but her own--even this many decades later.

Uggh.. She makes me just want to throw up. Sadly her two daughters may well grow up with the same sense of entitlement, irresponsibility and sociopathic tendencies that are the hallmark of Bush* and his own mother, Babs. Now we know we can add "Saint" Laura to that list.

Her daughters are already full grown women, and the evidence is already in that they have that sense of entitlment.

might have made a difference, but yes, it appears both daughters are on their way to being every bit the naricissists as the parents.

27. She didn't outright blame the victim but she came close.
She commented on how the car he was driving was "sporty and sleek" and had been condemned as unstable by -- get this -- Ralph Nader.

38. LOL, I'm a confirmed Nader-basher but even I can't blame him for this one!
His report had nothing to do with what happens to a car when it gets broadsided at 50mph. Pickles is just seizing on that as a talking point. It's really offensive for her to make any suggestion that this was other than 100% her fault.
