This Is Alabama
Apparently this jerk-off is running for Governor of Alabama. How do I know this? Because someone I know on Facebook posted this video along with a comment about how he's going to move to Alabama if he wins. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9ohsvJHkbY He's apparently running on the tagline, "This is Alabama. We speak English here."

Here's the response I posted to this nonsense: "Alabama" is a Muskogean Indian word. This is Alabama. We speak Muskogean here.

5. Angry anti-'foreigner' folks from Texas should take note as well

The word texas (tejas, texias, teysas, var.) had wide usage among the Indians of East Texas even before the coming of the Spanish, whose various transcriptions and interpretations gave rise to many theories about the meaning. The usual meaning was "friends," although the Hasinais applied the word to many groups-including Caddoan-to mean "allies." The Hasinais probably did not apply the name to themselves as a local group name; they did use the term, however, as a form of greeting: "Hello, friend." ...

... Whatever the Spanish denotations of the name Texas, the state motto, "Friendship," carries the original meaning of the word as used by the Hasinai and their allied tribes, and the name of the state apparently was derived from the same source.

9. Alabama is a beacon of civilization compared to Mississippi
Just remember, Mississippi produced that caveman, Haley Barbour, for governor.

10. Update
I just went to this guy's post to see if any of his mouth-breathing friends had chimed in on it (or if other people with functioning brain cells had decided to back up my assault on his "we wuz here furst, so talk like us'ns" logic).

The fucker deleted ONLY MY POST.

I wonder what would happen if I reposted it exactly. I have a real problem with people who censor those they don't agree with. Yeah, he's all for forcing people to speak English, but apparently only if he approves of what they're saying first.

11. And I REALLY Have To Wonder About All These "Force People To Speak English" Folks
I mean, the thing about this guy is that he lives in Ohio. How many non-English speakers could he possibly run into in any given day? I live in the biggest city in Ohio and I encounter it maybe once or twice and it has NEVER been a huge problem. This guy lives in freakin' Mayberry. I'd be willing to bet there isn't a non-English speaker within a 5-mile radius of where this guy lives. So really, how big a problem could people who don't speak English be for this guy? How has THIS become the issue that has outraged him to the point of wanting to relocate?

Seems to me that this guy is doing nothing more than predictably salivating at the sound of Dr. Pavlov's bell. He's been trained to believe that something that has virtually NO impact on his life is the biggest problem since lead paint and asbestos sandwiches. Kinda like all the people who have devoted their LIVES to fighting abortion and gay marriage. It doesn't affect those people one iota. They're simply angered to the point of violence over something that has no impact on their lives whatsoever. There's a name for people like that, you know.

12. I'm originally from "Mayberry"
and all you have to do to hear non-English speakers there is to go to the local Wal-Mart, which even has announcements in Spanish now.

13. I live in Alabama and most Alabamians find him to be totally stupid.
We all joke about the dramatic pause at the end of his spot. He doesn't have a chance but Arthur Davis has a real shot. He would be Alabama's first AA Governer.
